Welcome to the Lingwa de Planeta introductory course!

It is relatively small: it consists of nine lessons. Every lesson includes several sections named "Worda" (treating vocabulary) and "Gramatika" (treating grammar). In the Worda section new words are introduced, and these are primarily grammatical words, i.e., those which are not numerous but without which you can't do at all. In the Gramatika section you will find the rules of their usage and combination.

The whole course consists of simple and often funny phrases, so after reading it you will know enough words for simple everyday communication.

The grammar of Lingwa de Planeta is described through a system of special terms. These are written in italics at the right of page. They may be of interest for those who would like not just to read and speak but to analyze the inner structure. Let us take for instance the first grammatical word that you will run across,"kwo-worda". Basically it means the same as the usual word "noun". "Kwo-worda" means "what-word", i.e., the word that you use when you ask "what?" There are also "kwel-worda" (which is most often an adjective), "dzwo-worda" (verb), "inplas-worda" (pronoun), "mah-kwel-worda-partikla" (a particle that makes kwel-worda from, say, kwo-worda), etc.
